#5: ONE OF YOUR FAVOURITE SHOWS
With it currently being in its mid-season finale of Season 4, Gotham has sealed its spot of my favourite Tv show. I was very much attracted to this Tv show, seeing that it references to the Batman story line from DC Comics. Obviously I could never say no to watching my favourite superhero in live action. However, what left me much intrigued was the fact that Gotham was not all about Batman and his years as a vigilante. It was about Gotham city itself. How it works. How it affects and develops its citizens to be who they are as a character. For example, the high level of criminals in Gotham resulted in an orphan Bruce Wayne, which developed him to become the Batman. Or even Selina Kyle (later Catwoman), who lives a harsh life in the Narrows, resulting her to the lifestyle of stealing. Each of these characters have their own stories, forming a deeper connection with its audience, allowing us an insight to the minds of villains and heroes. The characters are not all Black and White.
Aside from the plot, Gotham has one of the best cast. The acting was on point for each character. Especially for all the Villains. I especially enjoy watching Penguin or Oswald Cobblepot, portrayed by Robin Taylor. It was fresh and new, and very much like a villain. And Jerome Valeska (pre-Joker), portrayed by Cameron Monaghan. Never have I seen a chilling and horrifying villain!
All in all, Gotham is and will always be my favourite Tv show. Even though it borrows characters from the comics, it constantly experiments and develops these characters as their own, thus producing a fresh and raw vision of Gotham. I do hope for a season 5.......
